Which travel vaccines are free?

 

The following vaccines are available on the NHS at the surgery.

Please make an appointment at least 6-8 weeks weeks before travel to allow sufficient time for the vaccines to work.

  • Polio (given as a combination: diphtheria/tetanus/polio jab)

  • Typhoid

  • Hepatitis A

These vaccines are free because they protect against diseases thought to represent the greatest risk to public health if they were brought into the country.

Which travel vaccines will I have to pay for?

 

The following travel vaccines and anti-malarial medications are not available at the surgery as they are not available on the NHS.

You will need to make an appointment at a private travel clinic for assessment at least 6 weeks before travel.

  • Hepatitis B

  • Japanese encephalitis

  • Meningitis vaccines

  • Rabies

  • Tick-borne encephalitis

  • Tuberculosis (TB)

  • Yellow fever

Yellow fever vaccines are only available from designated centres.

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you will need to download and complete the form below:

An appointment will then be made to suit your needs with a practice nurse. The above form will need to be completed and returned back to us 48 Hours before your appointment so we have significant time to order your vaccine.
